INTRODUCTION

The Perdana Global Peace Forum 2005, organized by the Perdana Leadership Foundation on December 15 -17 2005 at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, intended to provide an international platform for the discussion of current world problems and through comprehensive discourse, provide ideas to make our world a better and safer place. The Forum brought together a diverse and select group of current and former heads of state, business leaders, prominent academics, community leaders, other stakeholders and key NGO representatives to collectively brainstorm on a practical way towards achieving global peace.

The makings of Perdana Global Peace Organisation (PGPO) began with the launching of the Kuala Lumpur Initiative to Criminalise War in the first Perdana Global Peace Forum in December 2005. Those who attended the Forum realized a serious, active and sustained struggle is needed to outlaw war and encourage global peace. Perdana Global Peace Organisation was formed on 4th of May 2006, a Non-Governmental Organisation that is spearheaded by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the Fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Following a shift of structure, Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) was formed in October 2010.

Mission to Gaza First Arrival, 1st June 2011

The Gaza Strip is a war-ravaged, poverty-stricken area, locked into 365 square kilometers and living under a tight illegal blockade on land, air and sea. The blockade, in addition to recurrent armed violence and conflict, today remains the principle causes of the socio-economic and psycho-social crisis in Gaza. The restrictions on movement of people and goods continue to collectively punish the civilian population, affecting every aspect of life in Gaza, undermining the local economy and threatening the enjoyment of most human rights, in clear violation of Israels legal obligations under international law.
